1. What is NICHE MIS?

The Nutrition Improvement through Cash and Health Education (NICHE) Management Information System (MIS) is a system developed to support operational implementation of the NICHE programme.

2. How can I access the NICHE MIS?

The NICHE MIS is designed with two technology platforms:
  1. a web-based information system and
  2. an android-based mobile application.The NICHE MIS web-based application can be accessed from any internet browser such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and/or Safari by clicking on the following link: (https://niche.inuajamii.go.ke:3005).

3. How can I access the NICHE MIS mobile application?

The NICHE MIS mobile application can be accessed by downloading the android application from the following link (https://niche.inuajamii.go.ke:3005/mobileapp) using any internet browser such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and/or Safari.

4. Which users can access the NICHE MIS web-based application?

The following user groups can access the NICHE MIS web-based application; the national-level users, all county level users including the County Coordinator Children’s Office, County Nutrition Officer, all sub-county level users including the Sub-County Children’s Officer, Sub County Health Records Information Officer, Sub-County Nutrition Officer, and the supervisors.

5. Which users can access the NICHE MIS mobile application?

Only the enumerator user group can access the NICHE MIS mobile application.

6. Which android version is suitable for running the NICHE MIS mobile application?

The NICHE mobile application is compatible with devices running Android version 7.0 and above.

7. What are the main functions of the NICHE MIS system?

The NICHE MIS comprises of the following functions:
  1. household listing
  2. household registration
  3. nutrition data capture
  4. payments
  5. case management
  6. data analytics, monitoring and reporting.

8. How are top up amounts calculated?

Bi-monthly top up amount for the household is computed based on the following rules:
  • If a household has one child (under 3 years), or a pregnant woman, the household is eligible for a monthly top up of Ksh. 500, which is paid bi-monthly as Ksh.1,000 on top of the CCTP base payment of Ksh. 4000 or HSNP base payments of Ksh. 5,400. The total amount to be disbursed during payroll for that household will be Ksh. 5,000 for CCTP beneficiaries and Kshs. 6,400 for HSNP beneficiaries, for a regular bi-monthly amount.
  • If a household has more than one child (under 3 years), the household is eligible for a monthly top up of Ksh. 1,000, which is paid bi-monthly as Ksh. 2,000, on top of the CCTP base payment of Ksh. 4,000 or HSNP base payments of Ksh. 5,400. The total amount to be disbursed during payroll for that household will be Ksh. 6,000 for CCTP beneficiaries and Kshs. 7,400 for HSNP beneficiaries, for a regular bi-monthly amount.

9. How can a user reset their PIN or password?

All NICHE MIS web-based users can reset their passwords by clicking on the Reset Password link on the NICHE MIS login page (https://niche.inuajamii.go.ke:3005). The user will be requested to key in their email address where the password reset instructions will be sent.

All NICHE MIS mobile application users can reset their passwords by clicking on the Forgot Password link on the NICHE MIS mobile application login page.

10. What supporting documents are required to be uploaded during household listing and registration?

During household listing and registration, one of the following documents are required to be uploaded for a child beneficiary; i) birth certificate ii) birth notification iii) MCH Booklet

During household listing and registration, one of the following documents are required to be uploaded for a pregnant mother; i) ANC hospital card ii) National ID (if over 18 years)

11. How can I troubleshoot a login issue such as an invalid login attempt or a frozen login page?

Ensure you have entered the correct email address and password that you provided during user account creation. If further assistance is required, please contact the NICHE MIS system administrator.
